1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT o2 sensor

if its clogged you have it cut out and a new one welded in the down pipe.

but this is still not reliable info cause your not telling the full story yet........

Well the car started shaking and putt puttering so i changed the spatk plugs the wires and the three coils and its still acting the same like its loosing power and feels clogged so i got it read and they said its my o2 sensor now o2 sensor number 1 which is upstream rite?

post the code your getting.

does the check engine light flash when its floored? engine sound like a vacuum with a full bag? like it cant suck any more air in and feels gut less?

was it popping before the plug and wires change? if not, double check the plug wires are on right.

get the car scanned again, post that code, it tells a story and will lead you to a cure.

on quick free cat test is to remove the up stream o2, the one behind the engine, then drive the car, if it runs better the cat is clogged up. taking the o2 out causes a good leak thats pre cat, so the engine can exhale some.

p0300 can be a bad cat, or ignition problem.

pull that up stream o2 yet then drive it see if it feel better?

or drive it hard at night, see if the cat is glowing red?

bang on it when its cold to listen for stuff rattling inside the cat yet?

who told you that???????

if its broken and is blocking the exit port its fubared. if its clogged, also fubared. ive never heard of cleaning a cat, it gets replaced.

if your up stream o2 was faulty for a long time your engine was over fueling, thats why the cat clogged up.

double check the plug wires.

if those are on right, id say back to the cat.

po300 aka flashing cel light is either something ignition related or a clogged cat. always. most of the time its the cat.

being you had a a o2 code, id say its the cat.
