1999 GT Coupe

We didn't know it's an aftermarket sunroof...I'm trying to figure out what brand it is, but he broke the trim piece...oh boy.
 


Can't find **** on Zani.. So, decision has been made to just Silicone this thing shut, plastic weld the bezel back together, and make a sky light out of it for awhile.
 
Obviously I've missed something and I regret if any of my advice led to further complications. EVERY car I've looked at first hand has the same sunroof, I can't understand why it seems that every time a problem is posted here, its never anything like what I have seen. I should not assume other cars are like mine or the ones in the junkyard. If you show me where it says Zani on it, I can check for that on mine. That could simply be the name of who made them for GM.
 
seems a lot of these cars had sunroofs installed via the dealer. could be what ever the local shop uses. and suppliers can vary from state to state.

Eh, nothing I can't fix with patience and plastic weld lol, I'm just gonna seal it with Silicone and run it as a Skylight for a bit, til I can scrounge up money for another unit..
 
How to make a "Moonroof" or a "Zani Skylight" :D

First step we need Clear Silicone Caulking!

Second step, put you a nice fat bead in the channel around the window like so:

Final step, spread that **** smooth, and fill any low spots with more caulk and spread it smooth!

i used to lick my finger, then spread the caulk out. comes out nice, dont stick to your finger.

all that extra smear in the glass can be trimmed back with a razor blade and made cleaner looking. well after it cures of course.
 


Silicone is setup, took it to the carwash and as far as I can tell, no leaks.

I went to plastic weld the bezel back on, it's so brittle it broke in another spot so I just yanked that ****er out and trashed it.

New Denso O2 came in today, got it changed out:

That Part Number is for the Up Stream Oxygen Sensor.

I'll drive it to work tonight, see what all codes it has, then erase them since it's my own vehicle and not a customers.
 
Clear silicone won't last long in the sun. I'd prefer gasket maker (black RTV) between the panel and seal rather than over the top but yea... I reckon the whole problem to start with is that its stuck. So... hope the new O2s hook it up for ya. Stay dry!
