1998 GTP Upgrading Radio to Newer???

I have a 98GTP and the lcd display goes into scramble mode most time. I can't see the channels and time but radio plays & work.Can i upgrade to a newer GP or GM radio and still use my steering wheel controls and display in my HUD???:th_scratchhead:
 


I lost mine when I upgraded to an aftermarket deck...but there may be another solution. I had the bulbs burn out in my display and I found a break in the connection on the mother board. Before buying a whole new deck I just wired in some LED's and replaced the bulb, by soldering to the motherboard. Eventually got a sub and amp, so jumped to aftermarket, but that may work for you.
 
You can definately swap to antoher radio. They stayed the same til probably 04 when the new body came out. Those would drop right in.

Hey Burley..check out Metra Axxess. No reason to be without wheel controls...that's crazy talk.

Yea, I've never come across those before-but when I upgrade the deck in my blue GP----that's def. something I'm gonna do!
 


Some had theft lock built in so just get one without the theft lock or make sure you get the code with it.
