1998 gt build

Pontiac95

New member
To start things off im currently preparing for a top swap build for my 1998 grand prix gt coupe. I bought most of my parts at the junkyard and someone actually gave me a gen 3 supercharger for free they were trying to get out of the way. The only things i currently need is a canned pcm tune since no one close tunes or dynos, and a top swap gasket kit.

Yeah it is really nice. haha. Got those heads apart and cleaned up and back together in a day. They should run great.

Project is cancelled for now, drunk driver hit me on the way to town the other day. What do you guys think, fix it or let it go to the scrap yard? Insurance will total it and offer to let me buy it back for cheap. Body damage to rear quarter, air bags, windsheild, and rear suspension damage. i can do everything myself besides putting a new quarter on.

Dang. I would let that one go to scrap. Damage is a whole lot deeper than just a quarter. Sux but I've been through this plenty. when ins man asks if you want to keep it say yes, title stays clean that way. Then do your teardown and move on.

sad day, but yeah like above said, say you want to keep it.. then part it out/ junk it. find another one. lol

To bad about your car ... BUT you can definitely count your blessings. Drink drivers, the epidemy of ignorance.

This* And i still don't know what im going to do about my car. The insurance company is taking their sweet time handling my case so who knows when i will see any money. Found a sweet deal on a black 5 speed 2007 Pontiac solstice im thinking about. Might get that unless i run across another clean grand prix around here, which is not likely. They are either ragged out, ugly, or the owner wants 1000 dollars more than its worth.

Saw a clean red 99 2dr listed on here earlier ... 4Gs ... Cincinnati I think?

What happened to the drunk driver, just curious.

They hauled him off to jail. :th_thumb-up: haha. Im sure he will get off easy like the rest of em.

Yeah it is. Insurance called me yesterday afternoon. Im getting around 4k for it, not to bad seeming i paid 2200 for it not even 3 months ago. lol

Well finally got my insurance deal all settled, and then went out and bought me this. 2007 solstice 5 speed. Do i like it? yes. Will i end up selling it? probably. Its a fun car to drive but not as comfy and cheap to work on as my ole grand prix. Ima keep it until summer and if im not in love by then shell be gone and ill grab me a gtp.
