1997 radio question

I recently painted my dash and sometime during the replacement process I guess I hit my radio now the display does not work. I was looking into replacing it with another stock unit. It originally had the tape deck player with the equalizer built in and the CD changer in the back. Can I put in the oem one with a CD player instead? Or is the plug different.
