Yea i was thinking about getting it checked out.. how hard is it to put headers and a downpipe on this car? And yea i'm glad they put the good trans in the 97 GTP lol. And i was curious if they still do gtx's?

well, for the gtx part, they don't make pontiacs anymore at all, so that's a no lol. with headers, you don't need to get a downpipe. if you get headers you will be replacing the downpipe part of the exhaust as well with the same piece. if you don't want headers, you will need to get a downpipe and what's called a powerlog, or plog for short. it's basically a replacement front exhaust manifold, just fabricated for better flow. i haven't done it, so i'm not sure on the skill level. hopefully someone else will chime in on it. getting it scanned for KR should be a priority when you get some free time, until then stay out of wide open throttle or other kinds of hard driving.
 
Jeeze i wish I found this website sooner lol. I mean i drive it normally but i get the occasional urge to hear the supercharger =) . Last night involved quite a bit of that since there was a car show lol. And this stupid kid is challenging me to race him in his scion tc and he thinks he will beat me but i think i will tear a new asshole in his car lol. What do you guys think? I know its not stock

haha lucky. i can't wait to go back to work, hoping for a top swap next summer. as for the tc, you've got a pretty good chance against it. don't race until you get a scan for KR or you might blow your motor, and that wouldn't be worth it lol. but there's a story over in the kill section where a guy beat a turbo one with i think a 3.4 setup like yours, i wouldn't be that scared of it.
 


How exactly do you scan for kr..? And would any place do it for me? Annnnd I'm glad im being told this now lol because i like to get pushed in the seat alot but it still runs great so at least nothing has been damaged if there is kr.. the engine only has 25k on it so I'd be soooo mad if anything happend to it. i'll baby it until i get it scanned

you will have to find someone with a powrtuner or hptuners to get it scanned. or buy one yourself. welcome to the forum...

local garages, maybe some backyard mechanics, maybe you can get lucky and talk to some people you know that are into cars and they have one. really just ask around
