• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

1997 GTP Noob

Alright so i will be buffing that out next weekend and attempting to fix the door molding because I'm pretty busy this weekend. For the maintenance, is this the LIM i need? (http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/p/122-Intake-Gasket.aspx) and i might as well do the coolant elbows while I'm at it? Maybe shorter dogbones too? Also my car still has Dex Cool, should i keep it or is it really worth switching over to the universal stuff? Thanks for all the help!

those are the lim gaskets, but dont order from zzp. you can find them for 5 bucks less at rockauto. or advance auto.

you also need a upper plenum gasket, aka sc gasket, its 11 bucks at a local parts store.

and pick up 3 or 4 feet of vac line and 2 new vac T's cause they always break on you when doing a lim job.

ok cool. so i shouldn't worry about switching out the dex cool? And also i forget to mention that my steering wheel controls don't work or light up. (has aftermarket head unit) And i replaced the fuse and they still don't work?

id do a flush of the coolant. what you use it up to you. most of use just switch to green coolant.

the after market radio is why the radio controls dont work. they do sell a harness to make them work.

if your airbag light is on that could be why the radio controls dont work too, then you would need a new clock spring in the column.

airbag light isn't on. so it looks like i just need a harness although i was thinking about getting a new head unit soon anyways. want it to light up red..

you'll need to search around the site some. but theres how to's for the bulbs to change colors too. but its a lot of small parts and you need to solder the bulbs in. if your up for that go for it.

they sell the harness at crutchfields. if you look around some here you'll find the right part #. or search crutchfields site.

the cheap-o's dont always do such a good job.

you can get a much better buffer at harbor freight its like 50 on sale this month.
