Re: 1997 Black GTP, SLP Gen 1 Spoiler - Check.

Looks nice Dan!

As others have said, garden hose washers! I put some on my gen 1 and it works great, water flows right on out.
So if you can somehow get the tape heated up enough to dismount the spoiler and then slowly and carefully work on taking the tape off trunk and spoiler, I would just use the garden hose washers and call it a day.

Why thank you.

Ill grab some Hose Washers in the next few days and get this all straightened out.

This 3M tape deal has my anxiety through the roof. LOL especially cause I am not patient.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, SLP Gen 1 Spoiler - Check.

yeah if you were patient you would have put the washers on before sticking it down ;)

Re: 1997 Black GTP, SLP Gen 1 Spoiler - Check.

Dan I've got a heat gun. I used it on the door ding guards that my car had on the edge of the doors and it came off like butter. It really makes a difference when it's hot. You're welcome to use it.

I didn't know it wasn't going to line up properly.

How will I be able to get it?

Re: 1997 Black GTP, SLP Gen 1 Spoiler - Check.

Don't matter to me I can fly or you can. Could knock out that wiring too. Just somethin to keep in mind. A heat gun wouldn't be a bad investment for you either. The one I got I got for Christmas one year (and it didn't cost very much) and I thought I'd never use it but I've used it at least 4 or 5 times since I've had it. They come in handy.

edit: I'm off at 3. so however you can work your schedule

Alright.

I'll probably head over after work. So we can knock this spoiler issue out and get that wiring finished.

sounds good. I'll run it by the man but I'm sure it won't be a problem. Also do you happen to have rtv? cuuuuuuuuus I need some for my egr block-off plate, courtesy of tut. :D

I should have some laying around somewhere. I'll have to check.

Dan, get a heat gun. Always good uses. Don't even try to heat up the tape to get it off, won't work. You would likely burn the paint trying to get the stuff off.

Think debadge. Go raid your parents bathroom for floss and loosen the bolts on the spoiler and very carefully work the floss under it and with a sawing motion go across to the other side. It will cut the tape, this will require either new tape afterwards or just removing the tape. Go to lawn and garden place of your choice and get a package of Garden Hose washers and 1 per bolt and torque down decently.

This will not let it be flush but will raise it evenly and give about 1/8 of an inch for water and small stuff to pass under. But you won't notice the gap unless you look for it.

My main man Chef.

You always come to the rescue whenever I need you.

Already have the Hose washers. Just need to get this tape off. Plus I'm very impatient. Hopefully all turns out well.
