Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

Drivability? Don't be a lamer. You can totally dd a cam car

I'm aware. DD a cam is no problem.

But a cam does bring down the driveability a little compared to rockers. Plus I'd have to remove the rockers and swap springs. No thanks.

I'd rather just keep my Rocker setup with a full size intercooler. Personal preference at the moment.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

You serious?

You have more of a chance of breaking the timing chain.

If I went cam, I'd go with NIC cam. That overlap will shake the car to pieces. Lol

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

I don't want a cam.

I'm sticking with my rocker setup. Don't like it? Then move on. It's just my personal choice.

Lol it has nothing to do with weather or not I like it... It has to do with you spreading false information.

You WONT break your timing chain. Might break the dampener if you have the idle set real low.

And as far as the NIC cam shaking your car to shreds, it didn't rip Anmars in half.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

When I talked to andrew, he said with the NIC cam either go with the Double Roller or replace the stock chain every 30k miles.

Don't want to do that.

I'm sticking with my rocker setup, accuse me for relaying false information. My god. It's my car, I'll do what I want with it.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

I don't know how I'm making sh1t up?

Obviously a larger cam or the NIC cam will put more stress on the chain/dampener.

Let's say I went big. XPZ/IS4/Original Thrasher. Those are just as safe to DD as rockers?

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

I said the dampener COULD be hurt. You won't break the chain. Turn the idle up and take the stress off the dampener.

And Nick Dd the bluecar for a while.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

No. If I get a cam, I will not have a high idle.

If I spent the money on cam, I want to hear the b1tch.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

Did a little one wheel burnout. FWD Fail.

Not bad at all for this ol' car.

Started about 15 feet before the picture, and continued about 20 feet after the picture as well. It's all I could get within my headlights.

Also purchasing a nice add-on to the car. Not performance, but more for looks. Since this car doesn't look good enough yet.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

I just slam the pedal from a stop and the wheels just spin and spin and spin. Keep in mind, my tires are Pirelli P4's, so they are decently sticky.

Nice work on tune then Joshua.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, The Final Project.

Got some GPO Grilles.

Painted them and installed them today. Pictures kinda suck, i'll have to take some better ones after I clean the car on a sunny day.

Not quite sure how people mount the grilles behind the GPO's. I zip tied them on behind the bumper and trimmed down the tabs, but it's going to drive me nuts because there's a pretty big gap between the chrome grilles and the GPO's. Looks like butt from up close looking down, but would never notice driving down the road. Any suggestions on re-installing the chrome grilles closer to the GPO's would be appreciated.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, Now With GPO's.

Is that color just the factory color for the lower portions of the bumpers? I was wondering what these would look like on a black car. They look pretty good
