Re: 1997 Black GTP, LIM Has Been Completed.

I realize it was all Brandon's fault. I saw that same theme in Josh's header's not installed yet thread. :th_laugh-lol3:

I would "snug" them to 15ft lbs. No removal of bolts. Just torque....to the proper spec (BillBoost spec BTW)

Re: 1997 Black GTP, LIM Has Been Completed.

FWIW consistency is the most critical thing here. Since we don't do this stuff all day every day, we don't usually have a good feel for consistency. It seems like we do..but we don't. That's why we torque to a spec.

Mechanics meanwhile are kinda known for not using a torque wrench on many things.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, LIM Has Been Completed.

Any suggestions on a "good" torque wrench?
sorry Dan don't mean to be cluttering up the thread.
Got the summer wheels on?

Re: 1997 Black GTP, LIM Has Been Completed.

Depends on the work being done etc.

I liked the price on the Husky (Stanley) brand at Home Depot for a while. They went up a bit, still good pricing though. I have those and a couple of Craftsman ones. All are click style. They are pretty equal when in my hands. I know some guys that invested in Snap On etc.

No worries. I wanted to ask that same question as well.

Summer wheels are not on yet, sadly. Car still looks like trash.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, LIM Has Been Completed.

Another thing wrong with this fvcking car.

My cop radar is hardwired to my radio, well my radio works fine but my cop radar doesnt work at all.

AND both my fog lights do not work either anymore... But my headlights do.

SWEEEETTT

Re: 1997 Black GTP, LIM Has Been Completed.

Just for the record we didnt touch the radar detector or the fog lights when we did LIMs...

Re: 1997 Black GTP, LIM Has Been Completed.

I thought they were only needed for things like heads, crank/cam bridges, etc...

I just snug and go lol

Re: 1997 Black GTP, LIM Has Been Completed.

Did errands today.

Sprayed Carb cleaner on #6 injector. The car fully shut off. The injector must not be seated right, causing the misfire and vac leak. Easy fix.

On friday, Im pulling the blower off anyways, to re-paint it and the fuel rails. Maybe even the VC, who knows.

Stopped at ZZP today as well. Every say hello to the customer service entrance of the most amazing 3800 vendor ever. :th_laugh-lol2:

I also decided to take the car off roading. 4x4 to the max.

Also bought some tools. Few sockets, and two torque wrenches. 3/8th drive and a 1/2 drive and a breaker bar. You cant go wrong with new tools.

OOOHHH I ALMOST FORGOT!

I put my rims back on. Dear lord, she looks SOOOO much better and the Pirelli's roll like a dream.

I still need to figure out why both my Fog Lights wont work. Hopefully its something simple, like a blown fuse...

I'll get more picture of the repainted engine bay tomorrow.

And since my hood and Air Dam look like sh1t. The air dam is coming off tomorrow and going back in for some fresh paint.

The hood will have to wait awhile.

And also, as I was going through the car wash, I lost one of my Hood vent grilles.

:th_depressed:

So in that case, I suppose I'll just have to buy the MPD 6-grille set.

DARN.

I'm assuming due in part to the wonder white Christmas you had for the past 4-5 months lol???

Can't see it in the photos, looks all pretty and clean.

Re: 1997 Black GTP, LIM Has Been Completed.

about time you put the summer wheels on looks a lot better.

Well they are peeling pretty bad. So I have to wait to the last minute to put them on to keep them in the best condition. I dont want to buy new rims. Especially after I just dropped $720 on these new Pirelli tires.

Winter took a huge toll on my car.

Check this sh*t out.
