1996 Grand Prix radiator fan wont work HELP!!!!!

I bought a 1996 Grand Prix for my son & it ran fine but now the fan for the radiator wont work. The one for the air conditioner works but not the other one. Had it to a mechanic & he says he checked the relays & everything else & when he runs juice directly to it, it will run. And the scanner says its not getting hot but when we put a manual gauge in it does show its getting to about 230 if I don't turn the air cond fan on Anyone else have this problem or have any ideas as to what to do??
 


Had that problem on a 98 GP - and it was the temperature sensor.
Even replaced it, and still had the issues. Ended up replacing it again(and the wiring) - and fixed it.

If the scanner doesn't show it getting hot I would say that's likely the problem.
 
ive recently found a swapped gp that had no fan function on one side and lost the other a month later.

turned out to be a wiring issue on the harness crossover that sits above the radiator....vibration had rubbed through the insulation of 8 wires completely separating 5 of em....never a short...thankfully it appears the dogbone mount powdercoating is quite durable compared to plastic.

repaired everything and its like new again
