^ New-ish wheels. I've done a lot to it, and still have more to go... as soon as I can extract the bolt out of the head for the T-stat housing :/

Wow! You don't really see those kind of cars..at least around here. Spray paint jobs can look pretty decent, after using clear coat and polishing & waxing them.

My plan is to plasti-dip the ENTIRE car, give it a matte/satin look. Black of course, and PD or PC the rims white. I have plans, just very little $$$ to get them done.

plastidip costs more than just regular paint. and then you wet said it and buff it. then it will look a thousand times better.

Yeah 3d gens are a failure. I can't say anything bad about my Escort but every OTHER Ford I've ever had was a pile. This one may not be the stouter GT (stout at 127hp lol), and they are a mazda chassis, so it's been pretty good to me.

I think the LX (deathscort) has around 88-89 hp, so it's definitely an economy car.

I Miss my GT :(

The GT was a great car, the engine was based off of a Mazda MX-5 Miata (1.8L DOHC BP05) and for such a small engine, it sure packed a punch. It was pretty bad for tq. steer when trying to turn and being too harsh on the throttle. Didn't take much to make it spin on dry pavement, not that I do anything that ignorant anymore....

Utilized VICS, (Variable Intertia Charge System), with the dual intake runners, which made it pull hard past 5400RPM's. 7200 redline, and I never shifted after 6200. I babied that sucker unless we had an auto-x come around.

That's what I used originally, but ive got a couple spots of concern from working at Walmart. I despise buggies...

Yeah the Escort community is pretty tight knit. We all know one another somehow :D I've got friends from as close to 1.5 hrs away, all the way to Tacoma Washington, Dallas Texas, all over the map.

Here are my cardomain pages for Deathscort, and Goblin.

And the GP! I have very little to add here as I haven't had $$$ to do anything. :(

That's cool you guys actually know each other. Man i was shocked as **** when i saw that car

As far as power numbers, I've seen escorts, and quite a few at that, get near, or over 300hp, single turbo application/fmic. The GT's being a mazda engine, and a spunky one at that.

Look on youtube at 'Boosted Escorts'. Some even swap in the 2.5L V6 from the probe GT (KLZE) and that stock makes nearly 200hp with just minor bolt-ons.

The great thing about escorts, is there aren't many places that carry aftermarket stuff for them. A lot of the stuff is fabricated, which makes for very.....interesting setups.

Here is a cleaner setup that a buddy of mine is working on.

For a small displacement, (yet twin cam), 1.8L, can pull off some outstanding numbers. If only they had come in RWD, they would be some real beastly cars.
