1978 Pontiac Firebird Formula-Update- 5/9/2014

Re: 1978 Pontiac Firebird Formula-Update- 4/7/2014

I had this ugly old 1972 Formula 400 about fifteen years ago. 400/400th/4.10:1 12-Bolt. Holly, Edelbrock, Headers. That thing would make your hair stand on end. I had lofty plans, but never had the money to restore the body. Ended up selling it. Wasn't so easy to find parts back then either.

Re: 1978 Pontiac Firebird Formula-Update- 3/2/2014

gtpjoe, I just read through all the way. Honestly, being a Pontiac nut I shook my head several times, mostly at some of the input you're getting, lol. It looks like you do have a cool low buck score coming together and its on the right track. Theres a lot of knowledgeable 2nd gen guys around, but I wouldn't say here. No offense to anyone. Best of luck and that fresh upholstery looks great! The green one I linked is getting a full frame and modded LS7, BTW. It is still possible for a high dollar build, to buy a brand new aluminum Pontiac block. That allows having one's cake and eating it too. And OH MAN are they pretty!

I have been doing a lot of research on other sites, I know I recognize your car from them. I am pretty excited about this build, even my wife is excited which is good. Thanks for the input!
