Hello everyone ! I am changing out my rear end and need help identifing the technical name for the bushings that sit above the pumpkin cover. My local parts stores don't seem to have them or can't identify them correctly.

Secondly I'm trying to identify the gear ration on the replacement rear end. The only stamp available is 9795082 and E289. Rear end is out of a 70 Pontiac Grand Prix. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

get me a pic of the rear end housing, If its a control arm like the chevelles were then its a upper control arm bushing for either right or left rear.

The gear ratio thing I know by counting how many times the tire rotates to the rotation of the drive shaft or yoke if no DS is hooked up.
Mark the tire and body, then mark the diff housing and the yoke, easier to count this way.

So for every 3 full rotations of the tire, the yoke should spin 23 full rotations as well. ratio = 3.23 as an example.

rear upper control arm bushings, get some poly or prothanes. I used the prothanes after the poly, a little softer but not by much.

I have had many classics and my last one was a 78 mino with the same rear end in it. they are easy as pie to be honest.
