U will need a housing gasket and stat seal. Remove the housing bolts, replace everything and reinstall housing. Pretty easy

Mine has a housing gasket. I work at advance and they sell a housing gasket 4 it, also the stat seal. I removed an old 1 of it when i replaced my stat 2 a 180.

U said it 08. I have a 98. I can take a pic of the gasket if it helps. Is bballa0740 replacing a stat on an 08? If thats the case, i didnt know. I just know my 98 gtp has a housing gasket.

my 98 had on too on it. mechanic told me i shouldnt need the gasket but he was wrong. I turned on my car on be4 i knew it anti freeze was going everywhere lol...i had heard that only certain years need them but i dont remember what ones. all i know is the 98s DO need one

i had a gasket, but couldnt find anyone that sold it. even the dealer. so i put my t-stat back in with a new o-ring and it sealed up fine.

im not sure as to why the OP needs a 180* thermostat either since his mods arent really anything that would require cooler coolant temperatures.

Just did my 99 and it did not have a gasket, just the T-state O-ring seal.

My car also uses the supercharged Fuel Pressure regulator part, so go figure.

Discovered this after buying the non-sup charged, getting home and seeing that it would not fit. Returned it, got the supe charged one and it fit and was correct.
