12 year old's opinions of the drinking age

BUT i have never, and will never drink and drive (excpet that one time but i was 10 houses down so that doesnt count) :th_jester:

actually it does count. it just takes a kid running out to get his ball and your ****ed for life. even at 2am. people still walk their dogs at tht time.
i dont drink at all anymore, just did a few times to see how it feels, not for me.
drink and drive is the most retarded thing ever.

age has little to do with it. It's really more how mature each individual is. There are plenty of the over 21 crowd that can't handle drinking with multiple DUI's. when I hit 18 the legal age in wisconsin was 18 and in Illinios 19 and I didn't really see a problem...Personally I don't drink ...never cared for it

i dont understand how they can do it. i tried drinking two nights in a row and i was out of commission for an entire day afterwards

You guys act like its so "insane"

In canada, by 18 if you don't know how to handle liquour, you probably never will.

19 is the legal age here... and I have yet to see any negative consequences due to this "lower" age.

I mean ****, I'm FAR from an alcoholic yet I'm sitting here taking straight drinks of of 57.1 % dark rum.

All depends really... ARE YOU RESPONSIBLE? Yes/no?

^^ What he said.

There are plenty of people who are under 21 but are fine drinkers. You have to know when to stop and enjoy it in moderation. There are plenty of people over 21 who should never be allowed near alcohol because they are idiots.

x2 agreed

I mean we could have this thread all over again on the issue of sex, marriage, voting, gun ownership, drivers license etc

The list goes on and on and it all comes down to what TCO implied, are you responsible, mature, knowledgable enough to handle it?

I love drinking. I love drinking. I love drinking.

I hate kids who are like 1 beer, 1/2 the next beer "MAN IM SO WASTED"

I hate beer... liquor is my thing. Vodka is the **** :)

In fact, last week I got a lime limeade form sonic and ended up putting 2/3 of that cup as vodka and the rest limeade a few times. Got wasted by the end of the night lol. I'm almost 19, and generally don't drink myself to oblivion often. Rarely, actually. That was the first time in well over 2 months.

X2 I was going to respond but got lazy and Matt already said it all for me :th_thumbsup-wink:

It doesn't matter if you can drink at 18 or 21, when ever some one starts drinking they will get out of control. And all of the people who get ridiculously drunk all of the time don't care what age they need to be to drink, they will do it anyway. And please don't go parading around saying you never had a drink...it can mean two things you sincerly have a moral problem with drinking, or you have no friends to drink with. and alot people who are morally apposed to drinking have no friends and decide to become morally apposed to spite the people who have fun drinking.
