1.9 Rocker Question

So I am getting a set of ZZP modified rockers. I have 92xxx on the motor, and from what i have read i should replace the springs. Should i go with stock replacements, or step up to the LS 90# springs?

I won't rev it past stock, no point because im not going to make any power up there. I just was worried about the timing chain with the heavier springs, plus Gmparts direct has the stock valve springs for something like 25.00 bucks

105s are pretty soft on the timing chain. rockers really like it up top, and the point of reving it higher is so when it does shift, it shifts higher into the powerband.

but its up to you and your plans and goals.

l76 valve springs work well with the 1.9's. Only downside is if u decide yo go cam u will need to replace the springs again. It only makes sense to rev past 6k if u have a cam that likes it

btw our stock lifters don't like it above 6k anyway.

do the 90# have higher ramp rates? I have a new set of spring retainers from my Trans Am, that I didn't install before it was totaled.

the 90#'s are a little harder on the valve train, don't really need that kind of a spring rate for just a rocker-ed car.

Yeah, I don't plan on going past a 3.4 with headers, rockers, and a fwi. I think ill just stick with stock replacements

valve float.

Ls6 springs - .570 maximum lift
L76 springs - .510 maximum lift

I only paid $89 for L76 springs at the stealer-ship, you can find them online for cheaper.

i went 105's with 1.95 RR so i would think stockers would work fine for you or go 105's if you wanna baby the timingi chain i guess i was unsure between 90's and 105's but opted for 105's...

I haven't heard of anyone using the L76 springs. I honestly cant remeber what an L76 comes in.
