08 gp holes under back seat

Im still new here i think i have this in the right place, but yesterday i had my back seat out and i moved the carpet towards the front of the seat and i noticed i could see the ground. This was on the passenger side almost center of the passenger seat toward the front of where the back seat sits, then i turned around and noticed another hole on the driver side same spot, theyre not rusted through. My question is, is that hole supposed to be open or is there supposed to be a plug in it. It is noisier when riding in the back seat compared to in the front.

I noticed that a few months ago and mine isn't rusted or anything either. I was thinking of filling it with foam or plugging it to see if it makes a sound difference

Yeah, because those holes would go straight through the car...

there is like a cavity under the metal that supports the rear seats and it could also be for drainage

The seat does not go into these holes, if i plug them water wont be able to get in there so i wouldnt need drainage holes? Or is there somewhere else water gets in from

Well if you spill a few gallons of water in your back seat maybe. But what good is plugging them really doing you?
