07 with tranny problems?

56K on 07, driving for about an hour yesterday everything was fine until car started surging in overdrive and the speedo is reading 10 mph when I am doing atleast 55. Then car acts as if overdrive and drive are not even engaging. I coast a little ways to a side road and slow down enough to try 3rd gear with no luck, finally 2nd works. I slow in 2nd for a little ways, slip in back into overdrive and it works. Now the speedo doesnt work, it shifts hard and shudders through the gears. No check engine light is on so I am guessing no code has been thrown. Its still under warranty, I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what had to be fixed? Thanks!

well i dont know if this is your problem but my gaugthers car was acting funky a bit like yours didnt want to shift or down shifting weird and this site told me to check the vss vechicle speed sensor it is on the tailshaft of the trans on the passenger side

I just took it into the dealer so it can be fixed. I was guessing some sort of speed sensor, but then again, I dont understand why I would have lost drive and OD completely at the time. I keep you guys posted. Its disturbing to know that I dont even beat my car and I'm starting to see problems at 56K.

ewwww....mine is a 07 and I just hit 50,091....I hope mine don't start messing up. Please keep us posted!

Problems can happen at any time as things fail. I do not think it is the trans though, but the vehicle speed sensor. The car was going faster, but the sensor was not reading the correct speed and messing up, thus it did and acted like it did.
If you are concerned about issues, I would buy an extended warranty now.

Thanks for the reply's guys. The problem ended up being a wire broke in the main wiring harness. Leaving the VSS and another sensor in an open circuit. They just put a splice kit in it to repair it, so far so good. I'm going to change the tranny fluid and filter soon because the tranny temp was over 200 degrees. I have a extended warranty so it cost me 100 bucks instead of 206 dollars. It ends at 60K, so I have to decide whether or not I want to continue it. Im going to look for where the splice is because it had just been in the shop 2 weeks ago for some work, and I want to see it the splice is near where they were close to then.
