A friend of mine has an 08 GTI with a few mods and I think he ran a 13.7 in Tucson, AZ which is at around 3600-3800 feet above sea level. I believe that he still has an open diff also. The owner of BSH in Scottsdale, AZ is running pretty close to the 500whp :th_eyepopping: range in his GTI (not bad for a 2.0L car). I think that your should be able to take a fairly stock GTI with your car though, they really aren't great at the straight line, they come into play well on the curvy roads and from a roll if they are inthe right gear. I ran my GLI in Tucson and did a horrible 1/4 mile 15.01 with a 2.7 or 2.7 60ft, but my speed was 101mph. I had an open diff and the car just couldn't get traction (some was driver mod I am sure).

Either way, I hope you beat the pants off him since I own a GXP now, I want to see the VW's go down hard!! Go American Iron(or aluminum)!

Because the one at Crossley was this spoiled rotten douchecanoe I went to high school with...he is the guy that totaled that '08 GT, blue with white stripes on 152 in rush hour one day...then he got a Porsche...put a bigger turbo on it and snapped the timing belt...bending all the valves...then he got the R32 and did NUMEROUS redline clutch drops and only trapped a pathetic 14.7 @ 93. I LOL'd. Now he has a new '09 white GT...he works at the Jiffy Lube right there off I35. TOOL.

Sounds like an epic failure at driving cars. There is no need to clutch drop an R32, and to only trap 14.7 FAIL. Sounds like a douche waffle indeed. He needs to drive a moped so he can stop ruining perfectly good cars.
