'06 scooby 2.5i, stock and sold

Re: my 2006 scoobie: out with the old, in with the new.

Looks good!

A good way to fix that peeling paint:

-Heat and roll fenders the way you want
-Peel the paint neatly
-Touch-up paint the whole thing
-Use a sheet metal tape to help prevent rust and keep any other paint in tact.

Thats what I did my rears, I have a sheet metal tape in the fender.

Re: my 2006 scoobie: out with the old, in with the new.

that lip would look good, meh on the scoop.

im likin the stance and wheels together.. want to me paint the lips of the fenders?

Re: my 2006 scoobie: out with the old, in with the new.

Looks good man!! I wasnt sure how those wheels would look but they look great!

Re: my 2006 scoobie: out with the old, in with the new.

i like the fit/stance, but i just can't like those wheels. sorry man, i try...i just am not a fan, but i'm glad you like them. good job with the fitment tho bud

Re: my 2006 scoobie: out with the old, in with the new.

dang nick, you were right, once again. those wheels look killer, not gonna lie! i bet you cant stop staring at your car after taking all those pics today..

Re: my 2006 scoobie: out with the old, in with the new.

Looks good, I would match the front camber to the rear tho

Re: my 2006 scoobie: out with the old, in with the new.

is it just me or does the front pass. side have almost no camber compared to the drivers front? could be just my eyes. but as always nick it looks amazing. loving the wheels thoroughly.

Re: my 2006 scoobie: out with the old, in with the new.

You should do that STi lip that I've seen, it lowers the front like another 2" or something.

DO IT!

planned on that lip at some point anyway. i can get an ebay replica of it for like $75.

^^^ and THAT hood!

no intercooler = no hood scoop, sorry. it'd be stupid.

gonna take some camber out of the rear. right now im running more than i need. it will look a little nicer without so much in the back.

its possible that its off a little. i did it all with quick tape measure measurements and eye balling it. hoping to have it all complete and 'correct' next week when nick and i do an alignment.

thanks everyone! i am loving it so far. i was told on the subaru forums from a couple people that the silver just blends into the car and i should paint them. it does seem like a good idea, but there is no way im doing that this soon. they are brand new for god's sake.

Re: my 2006 scoobie: out with the old, in with the new.

I know how you feel. The day I got my saleens on my neighbor came up to my house and **** on me about how I should get them powdercoated and pin stripe every spoke.

Re: my 2006 scoobie: out with the old, in with the new.

bio, i do think theyd pop out more painted a diff color. but theyre sex. very good choice mate.

Re: my 2006 scoobie: out with the old, in with the new.

I'm going to be honest, I'm not really feeling the wheels. I'm also not writing them off yet though, I feel like they're the kind of thing that has to be given some time and then it starts to grow on you.

Re: my 2006 scoobie: out with the old, in with the new.

i know they arent for everyone and they never will be. i was going out of my own comfort zone with these so i can honestly say im happy with my decision to do something different from my normal go to styles.

Re: my 2006 scoobie: out with the old, in with the new.

went up 1/2" in the front today to help with bottoming out my axles in the front on the frame. rides a lot better now and im not rubbing on corners really anymore. glad i decided to do that as well as putting my inner fender liners back on.

need to adjust the camber in the rear as it's still too much and i was thinking i'd go up a 1/4-1/2" in the back too while i was at it so i could run even less camber and not worry about rubbing.

Re: my 2006 scoobie: out with the old, in with the new.

Can you fit spacers behind them to get the tire closer to the fenders? and does that car have a wider track in the front or rear or something? Some of them side shots make it look like either the front or rear has a wider track. Either way Im really lovin the way your car looks with them wheels. :th_thumbsup-wink:

Re: my 2006 scoobie: out with the old, in with the new.

Post more pics after you align it.

But for now:

Re: my 2006 scoobie: out with the old, in with the new.

They aren't bad, and as long as your happy Im happy for you.

As said they just aren't my cup of tea. But part of my dislike is they remind me of the wheels on my 1979 mustang, mine were 15s but I hated cleaning them and didn't like the look too much either.
not my car but same wheels http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2434/3756004918_651ec4cb58_b.jpg

Again... no hating, they aren't bad looking just prefer the old style better, sad to see they didn't fit :(
