06 pontiac GXP CV Half Shaft Replacement

So i noticed that my CV half shaft was leaking transmission fluid very slowly today while investigating another noise coming from my passenger side wheel...and it just turned out to be sway bar link ends bad. But I have never had to replace a cv shaft before and It sounded very simple from what the guy at auto zone told me. I was wondering if anyone has a write up or knows how to do it and can post it on here for me. I have looked on here alot and cant find an actual write up on how to replace.

Well I had the dealership look at it and they were the ones who said it was a bad cv half shaft. And the boot on the CVS is spraying grease on everything on the passenger side. But if the trans diff case/outer trans seal is what's leaking the transmission fluid where is it located and how hard to replace is it. I have no experience working on the cv so its gonna be a new job for me

The seal is right on the end of the diff housing, you cant miss it.

You'd have to pull/pry it out and tap the new one carefully, then replace with a new axle.

Advanced auto parts and auto zone both do not carry that seal. Do u know where I can go to online or somewhere to get one

Napa # NOS 13750 [h=3]A/Trsax Seal, Output Shaft - Right[/h]

I've bought one from there and didnt have any problems with it.

Or you can buy them from the dealership.

the dealership charges freaking stupid high prices on everything. but ill check that out i think theres a napa store about 30 minutes away. But over all i dont think this is going to be to hard of a job for me to do. Im also replacing the sway bar end links and the tie rod ends while ive got it all apart for that shaft
