05 gtp maf sensor causing rattling noise

Ok I am still trying to figure out this dang rattling under load/acceleration noise. I have gutted the cat, replaced plugs/wires (autolite 606's) and still didn't help. Well this morning I unplugged the maf sensor before I went to town and the car ran perfect. Seemed peppier and made no rattling noise at all. So I went to the parts house and bought a new maf and replaced it in the parking lot and as soon as I did it started rattling again when I got on the road. My car does have a open cone connected to the maf. Any ideas? I'm getting aggravated with this.

I know the maf won't rattle itself, but I believe is causing spark knock. Which would be the rattle. If I unplug the maf it runs great and doesn't spark knock, but as soon as I plug it back up it will start rattling again under load at a certain range of rpms.

un plugging the maf wont make a worn coupler shut up at idle. higher idle would tho. coupler sounds go away when giving it gas and in the throttle as well. you only hear it at idle.

The 3800's do make a strange noise in general when running an open cone, my 05 makes a clacking/tacking sound under load that goes away if the stock air box is in place. Just a thought

That's what mine is doing. I put the stock air box back on and and now can't hear it. I'm just gonna get a aeroforce and tune. Then i will know what's going on with it.
