05 Grand Prix not starting correctly

Hey everyone, I have an 05 Grand Prix with 101750 miles on it. I have a strange intermittent problem where every now and then when I go to start my car, the car will not turn over. All my electronics on the inside of the car turn on, so I know it's not the battery. I've checked my air filter and it is clean. When the car doesn't start, I try it again and it usually starts. If it doesn't but I hold down the accelerator, then it will start right up after turning the key. I've never had this problem before but am beginning to have problems with some of my sensors (My windshield washer fluid keeps saying it's low but it's actually filled all the way to the top!) I have two Grand Prix but my other one is an 08 with a little over 30K on it. I am suspecting something either in the fuel system, air system or electrical system. If this has happened to any of you or you have an idea, please let me know. The intermittent problem is driving me nuts and I'm not sure where else to look since I've never had this problem with any other car I've owned. I'm not a mechanic so please explain in detail if you have any ideas....Any help is greatly appreciated. As a side note, the car runs fine under normal driving conditions, no warning lights at all except the washer fluid. The only problem is that sometimes it doesn't start. The motor does not run hot or high, it acts completely normal except for the not starting all the time.

Second:

Does anyone know of a good way to integrate an IPOD into an 05 standard Stereo without having to remove the existing sound system? I know there are existing FM transmitters, but they do not sound good. If there is anything else that works well with stock equipment, please let me know

Thanks in advance, I look forward to discussing the situation with you all.

i had this problem and so have a few others with 04+ models. i'd recommend cleaning your throttle body. a lot of junk builds up in there . see how that works. you just need basic hand tools to take it off then spray it with tb cleaner. its a good time to clean your maf sensor too. about the windshield washer fluid idk

sounds like the fuel pressure regulator tryin smell into your throttle body and see if you smell gas:th_blurry:

Had this identical issue on my 04 gtp. Pulled the throttle body off and it was absolutely filthy. World of a difference after cleaning it. Here's a good writeup to follow if you need help: Grand Prixs Of North America • View topic - clean your MAF & Throttle Body
