05 comp g suspension upgrades

hey guys i was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to upgrading the suspension on my 05 comp g, i know they should make solid sway bars, poly end links and bushings and what not. any suggestions on brands or any advice on going that route would be appreciated thanks!

It depends on what you want. Many suspension set ups out there. Some will make you hate the car as ride quality will suffer greatly other set ups might leave you unsatisfied and wanting more. Others will leave you with a car that rattles your teeth at idle. Either way it will never handle like a lighter FWD car or a RWD car with a modern suspension, but it will handle remarkably better than stock. Can you tell us what you are looking for?

If you have the Comp G front sway bar switch it to the 06+ solid sway bar. You will need control arms with it. I had police control arms and rebuilt mine with the solid moog control arm horizontal bushing and the new Moog socket type vertical bushing. This made a Great improvement in cornering and nose dive. Rear solid stabilizer bar and or solid bushings. Front and rear strut tower braces help a bunch. Solid engine lower, upper dogbone and transmission mounts. Replace the rear trailing arms with at least the boxed type. I have the ZZP cro-moly ones and they are good. I also have the Ingall lateral links installed.

As of struts I tried KYB and they suck. I switched back to New OE stock FE3 struts and springs front and rear and they were much better!

Agreed about the KYB struts sucking. They failed in less than a year in my lowered GTP.

Same here and I wasn't even lowered! In less than a year It felt like i had 300k miles on them. I took them off to test the rebound and 2 of them were completely wasted. I could pull up and down the piston. A third would not come back up after pushed down. The forth was good but not as strong as it should have been.

I priced and stock FE3 from Rockauto with springs and just front mounts is only like $300 less than BC coilovers.

Solid mounts I say go ahead if you want. I see little, if any, performance benefit. However, if you feel your teeth fit too tightly together, it's a possible solution.

I have no explanation for why, but the KYBs I shoved under mine still feel brand new with SSC lowering springs after ~1.5k... Jury is still out on whether they hold up, but they're not doing bad so far.

Maybe the cold preserved them somehow? lol
