04+ Spyder/Ebay Projector Headlights - Why you shouldn't buy them

^^^^ You would be correct. :P Also drunkie, i have found the best way to make room for the projectors behind is to take a hole saw and mount it to your drill, and line it up and go at'er. It leaves a nice round hole that the projector/wires can be routed through. I tried with a dremel on the one side, but it did not turn out good at all. Kinda wish i would have remembered i had a hole saw before i started that side....

Those do not look like Grand prix headlights LOL

In fact googling the part number turns up the old and wonderful headlights

Basically.

For a little more money you get ALOT more quality. Plus you get the added bonus of customizing it how you want, and knowing what went in it and how to replace it should something go wrong.

I don't think any ebay projector headlights really work the way a real projector should....Not for the price they sell things anyways.

Maybe I should start a company that modls and designs aftermarket lights with projectors that work. The problem is they probably would ring out to be $1000 for a set of lights.

i just don't want to shell out that much money, nor do i have time to do all the work. my headlights are getting so sh!tty that i need to do something. i want to get the black projector ones, but if the light output is really THAT bad, it's not worth it and i'll just get another set of stock housings.

Doing a retrofit though is getting cheaper by the day.

Headlights - $80
Projectors - $110
HID kit (DDM) - $30
Other stuff (shroud, jbweld, sealant) - $50

Total - $270 for projector headlights is about what you can expect. Which is almost half what I spent when I did the 2nd set, my first set was astronomical since the Morimoto's weren't around yet. Projectors cost me $300 for the FX-Rs 1.0 if memory serves me right.
