04 Gtp Trans Prob

On my 04 today i noticed my car like grinded and shifted funny as i took off from a stop light then after that its cool till the next light or sign so when i reached my destination checked my fluid smelled a lil burnt and was dark as i was about to pull off i notice i had no Drive gear at all then i put in Manual and it caught so thats how i had to drive it in manual with the tap shift it takes off a lil slow in first then change and is fine after that right after this i changed my filter and fluid and its still the same only manual works
So if anyone can give me inputs or comments thanks in advance.

One of the first steps in diagnosing is getting the problem to occur then taking it to a shop and reading the code. Only certain shops have it, your local parts store won't, and you wanna keep the vehicle running once the problem occurs

Wont move in D or 3 only

Wont move in Drive Only in M

I think what Dave is saying is that it's the same. The forward band is broken.

if its broken will it still go forward in manual because the car is still drivable
