Re: wicked 04 gt2

thanks texas and i know the one thing that didnt get cleaned but it takes an hour alone just to clean those ive got to get down with 1000 wet sand paper and sand its such a pain in the ass and they get dirty so quick wish there was a way to keep it clean

Re: wicked 04 gt2

Sh**** are those metal coolant elbows a pain? I have 63k on my car and I know they will be a problem eventually and I want to fix them soon

Re: wicked 04 gt2

no the metal coolant elbows are not hard to do but ive done plastic coolant elbows like 7 times i kept breaking them i kept getting the aftermarket ones. and because i kept replacing them i ended up stripping out the tensioner pulley and had to replace the entire assembly which came with gm plastic coolant elbows those have not broke yet. the plastic eventually gets brittal and breaks its plastic what do you expect so im switching to metal before anything happens

Re: wicked 04 gt2

sLpGPGT my sticker has been there for about 5 months now

theaceofspades its easy to change the coolant elbows quick how to draw how the belt is set up so you can put it back on right remove belt theres 2 or 3 bolts holding the alternator on remove those and just kind of move it back to sit on the back v/c theres 3 bolts holing the tensioner pulley assembly to the block take those out and pull it away from the block and theres ur coolant elbows remove them and if they break get all the pieces pull all the rubber sealant out too reach into each hole with ur finger and make sure they are completle smooth oh you may want a drip pan under you you are going to leak coolant and alot of it ur going to need about a gallon or 2 i used 1 1/2 i used a drill and wire brush to get all the sealant out then put ur new ones in i used rtv high heat and rigid hold and put it all back together

Re: wicked 04 gt2

Thank you. I know it's an issue I only have 63k on my car. But I just wasnt sure if it was a difficult task when I get the time to do it

Re: wicked 04 gt2

When I did my intake gaskets on the monte I tried to reuse and it cracked a tiny piece on the inner lip but it was leaking coolant all down the back of the engine... I don't recommend reusing cuz they are so fragile and its a cheap part so replace it while you're in there!
