Re: Revamp 04GT2!

So I have everything needed for 06 impala brakes waiting on steel braided brake lines have hv3 just got to trim it down I have a second fuel pump (mines dieing) roof rails are here i have a compete second upper and lower intake now it's time to just start putting it all together

Re: One of a kind 04 GT2

The way I've seen it done was using some somewhat thick wiring inserted into the ends of the rails and using that as a outline and bend it to the shape that you want the rails. Then using something like jb putty and throwing that over the wiring, then just add more as needed and eventually sand and shape it how you want it.

Re: One of a kind 04 GT2

Thanks red Im so exited about these as far as I know there's only one other set that have been modified for 04+ and I don't think they are in that persons vehicle right now. So next question for every one black or match car

Re: One of a kind 04 GT2

Brake hoses come later today I finally got the other upper and lower intake to start trimming the hv3 for the series II to fit my series III.

Re: Revamp 04GT2!

IMO paint rails to match car. Don't know what others might do or have done, I'm not an 04+ fan since they are sedan-only.

The best material to use for lenghtening them would be the material they are made of. Do you intend to add length in the middle or at one or both ends? I don't know how much difference you're trying to make up, but sectioning a piece of another rail in the center using plastic welding then flexible or semi-flexible bumper filler would be the way to keep that modification legit, since the rails taper off at the ends. Any spliced plastic piece facing the sky is likely to become obvious in a few months regardless of how the splice was done.

For minimal fuss, I'd be looking to carve a piece of plastic to match the required contours then paint it and stick it down at the rear end of a stock-length rail with just a close fit rather than a splice. Because I'd rather see a small gap and an extension there than a pucky job that shows up later.

Re: One of a kind 04 GT2

Had the local body shop owner in last night doing some tires for him found out that he does big discounts for everyone at the shop because our shop takes care of him and his workers this is going to work out good!
