The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
car hesitates when given more then half throttle before accelerating. no codes changed plugs, wires, 180 tstat, fwi. torquee shows no misfires. any other gauges I should monitor? what things could be causing this?
car only hesitates for seconds and it happens when quickly giving throttle. feels like a vaccum leak but can't find Anything dissconected.,going to throw a tb spacer on it in about a week I will clean tb them. maf was cleaned when I put the fwi on with maf cleaner the inside of the tb doesn't appear to have much in it from what I can see.
car seems to have a bunny hop while slowly accelerating only seems to studded when I have let the car sit and intake air temp gets high is it possible my maf is soaking up to much heat? how would I determine a fuel problem with a scan gauge?
if that split second hesitation is the maf and it only happens when the intake is hot could it be the intake air temp is false when my fwi is sucking in cold air? I did clean the maf when I put on the fwi I'll do it again tonight and see where is takes me.
is the iat sensor integrated in with the maf on 04+ grand Prix? if so I think I just realized why the factory put the maf at the air box instead of the tb like 03 and below. its reporting the wrong tempature if anyone has an 04 plus with fwi chances are there maf is right over the cross over pipe and willexpierence power loss and hesitations and the iat is so slow to detect temp change right away. I'm going to relocate the maf to the 45* elbow and see what happens when the heat rises.
an update my car did it again today. drove home for lunch ran fine parked it for an hour started it and it was extremely.sluggish watched the scan gauge and it was getting 4* kr under moderate acceleration and almost all my timing was yanked. timing was anywhere from 3* to 5* under acceleration. intake temp was showing 70*. outside was 45* could that air temp difference cause 20* of timing pulled?
Check your belt tensioners. I have the same issues and I found the S/C tensioner was bad. Possibly the water inlet tensioner also. Idle with hood open and look at the three little lines for correct set tension. Mine was not steady, but more like a wobble with alot of give. I am ordering new parts today.
I can see why a hai would fix the prob cuz if you have a cai on an 04 the maf is integrated with the iat and it heat soaks and gives wrong temp while intake sucks in cold air. for a fwi and a cai we have to get a series 2 iat sensor and relocate it or put the maf somewhere cold. with you confirming a change when switching to hai it makes sence.I will fix that before moving forward with mods. did you have a cai before or stock?
