04 GP Stalling Problem

The ground wire? Theres a little small ground wire that I bolted under the coil pack assembly or whatever you call it if thats what you mean. How would I test a coil pack?

yes that black wire gets bolted on the side of the head.

you can use a ohm tester im sure. how to test them im unsure tho. i hate electrical gremlin related stuff.

BUMP

So I kind of narrowed it down some. Hoping to get some input. If i disconnect the battery for a while, the problem will go away while it's in the relearn stage but when it goes back to normal, the problem will start again. That worked for like a full day when the weather was warmer but when it got cold again, the problem came back and even if I disconnected the battery, it still did it. I'm thinking maybe it could be a combination of the TAC in the TB and crank sensor?

Update guys. I took it to the dealership to get diagnosed and it turned out to be the MAP sensor. When I replaced mine a couple of months ago, I was cheap and bought an oreillys part instead of oem and this was the result of that. Went to napa, paid them about $90 and installed it myself and now it runs like before. Problem solved!

Hey what code did you get for the map sensor? I am getting a map sensor code on my 08 model but I am not having any problems though

It wasn't throwing any codes. That's why I couldn't figure it out.
Oh ok I see. My car is having a similar problem as yours but not as bad. Mine stalls out a little only if I try to floor it but it never cuts off. I checked the MAP sensor and it tested good. I am inclined to believe that its my Catalytic converter because I can hear a loud rattling noise coming from it. Also I am getting a P0406 code along with a MAP sensor code.

How do you know the MAP sensor is still good? Have you tried changing out the PCV that goes underneath the MAP sensor housing?

Oh and btw, my car started off wanting to stall but never shut off completely. This video was the progression from that.

I checked the map sensor with a volt meter. I checked 5 volts coming to sensor from pcm when car was turned off. Then I checked voltage again with car running and it dropped down to 1.5 volts this indicates that the map sensor is good. I found a video on you tube that shows you how to check it.

No it wouldn't. I was just asking if you had changed it out since you were already in there. It's a cheap part. How is your oil? Milky any?

Did you check to see what the voltage for MAP is supposed to be vs what you got?
