04+ GP "options"?

I found some actually, I got white colored bulbs for my heads/fogs/highbeams, for the fogs 893/898/896/898 all should fit, my stock ones had a curved base but the new ones have a straights one, if you want pictures just let me know.

WideTrack has been around since the beginning of the GP.

My base sedan doesnt even have ABS let along widetrack or whatnot.

what year is your car??

they call it wide track because of the platform it sits on. there wide. hence wide track. this is not an options. all gp's are made on this platform after 96. 97 the first year.

In 2006, the gtp was done away with and it left three models:
The base model which was just stated as: Grand Prix Sedan
The S/C model went from GTP to: Grand Prix GT
And of course the bad boy was: Grand Prix GXP

I know the base model was just called sedan. I had one and just traded it back in one the lease and bought a G6. They were running some god awful good lease and I ended up getting the car for $98/mo with $1800/dn. :D

The "W" in W-body does not stand for wide. It is the platform name for the car. Hence, camaros and firebirds are called F-bodies. And the new Cam is on the Zeta platform. Which it shares with the G8. I believe Cav's and Sunfires were on J-body.

Back in the 50's and 60's Pontiac was slapping that tag on everything. The GTO, the GP... everything.

On the 2004's, the widetrack slapped all over the cars. But was done away with even before the 05's were released.

If anyone feels I am wrong, please correct.

On the 05+'s there was a base model, a GT model, a GT S/C Model, and the GXP. Also you could have gotten a base (non-GT) with the S/C.

^x2!! Maybe mid-season when the 06's where comin in and 05's were going out is the only time I could see that possible to select one or the other.

As of 06 all there is, is a sedan, GT S/C and the GXP. 04-05 the was a SE,GT1,GT2,GTP and GXP from 05 and on.

That's wrong because there are 06 GT's that aren't S/C and the SE Package in 06' and 07'.

That's wrong because there wasn't an SE, it was Base (no SE), GT1, GT2, GTP, Comp G, 04' and 05' and the GXP in 05'+ pf course.

Mine is an 07, however the widetrack was an option for certain pontiac models starting in late 1958 with the catalina and then branched to all models before being killed off and reintroduced in 1997, IN 97 the wide track was a little over 2" skinner in front and a little over 3" skinner in the rear w/ 61.3" in front and 61" in the rear unlike its early kin which was 63.7 in front and 64" in the rear.

Im not sure how they consider it a wide track with those measurement, most 4 doors are atleast this wide now.( todays 61" f/r specs)

Also speaking of 04+ options, I have a 07 GP BASE, PW/PS/PL/PSeats/ and cruise control nothing else. However on several sites Ive seen that the GP has a speed limiter....Why would only some have the limiter? I was running a evo for ****s and giggles on I-90 early saturday morning and looked down when I felt the car starting to float and I was at 133 on the speedo and 134 on my GPS. How is that possible?

That must have one steep hill!!:th_laugh-pointup:
J/k, I have no clue man.

it was somewhat UP hill.

I was at the stealership earlier today and the tech ran a scan due to my question and he shrugged.

I thought mine was supposed to at 110, I waited for it to happen but never happened, figures at 115 or 125 TOPS but it was still going.

I barely have any options maybe this car is a super base model.
