04+ exhaust on 97+gtp?



You would think if they made it the same to bolt up the hangers should be relatively close to

The OEM hangers are in fact different.

Been there, done that.

You will need to remove one of the hangers on the Y on the '04+ catback so it doesn't rub on the body.
 


Other than the one hanger needing removed on the y of the cat back, it will go right in place correct?

Mine bolted up, yeah...but the hanger was still there. This was on an '05 supercharged car.

The GXP does, in the downpipe. It's not near as bad as the '97-'03 ones.

Yes. You can use the factory gasket (a new one of course after you clean the matting surfaces)...Part #31605...O'Rielly's seems to be the only place that I can ever get them. AZ never even had them in the system. They just sold the manifold to downpipe gasket. If you haven't put a downpipe on the car, I'd tell you that now would be a super easy time to do so...especially with the old catback out...you can remove the old downpipe from under the car, bolt the new DP to the '04+ catback outside of the car...and then jack up the back of the car and slide it all in from underneath. I just did all this on my bucket '98. Got the DP close enough to the manifold and hung up the mufflers and used a jackstand to hold the middle of the exhaust up.
