Gonna grab some 97-03 SSCs, cradle spacers, and pogo washers as soon as I can afford it, it could definitely use it - that, and maybe some spacers for a little more poke

Re: '04 Comp G - Gettin' real tired of this car's ****.

Never heard of this, always heard great things about Vinny's cradle spacers. I'll look into it

Re: '04 Comp G - Gettin' real tired of this car's ****.

cradle spacers are for lowering subframe to drop intercooler for better hood clearance.

Vinnie's spacers are for raising the motor mount and transmission mount for better axle geometry when lowering car

Makes sense, I was told they were cradle spacers - haven't had cause to look into it as of yet. Anything else I should grab for lowering? Strut mounts, maybe?

Re: '04 Comp G - Gettin' real tired of this car's ****.

What's your mileage?

It's a great idea to make sure everything is in good confirm.. For example makes sure your hubs and cx axles don't need replacing. To many people just slap springs on.. Then complain about more vibration and wonder what the issue is.

Re: '04 Comp G - Gettin' real tired of this car's ****.

93k. Hubs seem tight, but I've got the different warnings (ABS, traction control, variable effort steering, stability control system) that point to bad corrosion on the hub wiring, or the ABS module - not sure which yet. Car drives like new. I'm already having the Moog Problem Solver ball joints pressed in when I do all this, maybe even all new LCAs

Re: '04 Comp G - Gettin' real tired of this car's ****.

Ball Joints aren't pressed in on these cars, you cut\drill out rivets and bolt new ones in. You should look into the Moog Problem Solver vertical control arm bushings though.

Re: '04 Comp G - Gettin' real tired of this car's ****.

Cool cool, just makin' sure. If you are going to do it, may as well upgrade.

Re: '04 Comp G - Gettin' real tired of this car's ****.

For sure, lol. I'm just not sure if I should keep this style LCA and the Comp G sway, or a 97-03 setup with a Dorman or Progress sway

Re: '04 Comp G - Gettin' real tired of this car's ****.

Cough 97-03 CA, Dorman front..Addco rear.

Oh, I'm dead set on the Addco rear for sure. I'm doing the front sway because of the new LCAs, I'm looking for an excuse to do the rear. The 97-03 setup really makes a big improvement over the Comp G setup?

Re: '04 Comp G - Gettin' real tired of this car's ****.

Gives you better strut options. Allow you to go with the bigger solid front swaybar.. So yea makes quite a bit of difference without having to spend a ton of money

Re: '04 Comp G - Gettin' real tired of this car's ****.

I'm sticking with the FE3 struts until they start giving out, and then I'm gonna go with the FE4s (the Bilstein replacements on RockAuto). The bigger sway is a plus, but I thought this setup allowed for a smaller sway to be stiffer - then again, they got rid of this setup for a reason, I guess

Re: '04 Comp G - Needs moar low

You are going to want new strut mounts in front, for sure and the rears wouldn't hurt either
