03 mustang gt

Pulled into a turn lane behind a 03ish gt stang. Light turns, we turn the corner and get on it. I'm stuck behind him because of traffic and have to pedal it. Right lane frees up and I giver her the beans and pull by him pretty easy. We line it up again at about 40 and I decide to try the tapshift but iot won't drop into second. No honk he goes and immediately pull 3 lengths on me. Then I reel him in. We pull into a lot and talk for a sec. He said he has an exhaust and intake. I'm not familiar with stangs so I don't know what intake he has but he said some kind of 40 intake. I know its not smart to run in traffic but I couldn't help myself.

Anything is possible, do you have any mods? If it's an auto then I would say you got a stock new edge gt in the bag. If it's a 5 speed, AND the other guy knows how to drive, then you should lose. In the 1/4 anyway, they average faster times then a GXP, but the GXP does trap a little higher(I think). Your advantage is with the roll.
 


GT40 intake? But on an 03 that doesn't make sense. I dont see why people think a cat back exhaust a great improvement. It reminds me of everyone needing a CAI.
 
The GTPs have no problem with keeping up with a stang from a dig... Until the mustang hits that damn 3rd gear. I know OP is GXP but I can hold my buddies 00 GT with some mods off until he hits third when he destroys me

I never said our cars are better :P Id rather own a stang (in the summer) and actually almost bought one for fun. However, it is fun how close i can keep it :)
 


Ahh yeah everyone has their cars... normally. Honestly I respect any car out there that has potential. Im a car enthusiast.. Not any one car just in general. Its always fun to go see what people have done to their cars.

I have however heard people generalize the people who drive cars most commonly i hear mustang drivers are douchbags... However, theres a group of D-bags in any car community.
 
Mustang owners are douchebags hmmm, well I've owned and built both a 10sec Z28 and a 12sec Lx and I can tell you both of those "communities" were better than the GP one, the constant hating on cars that are undeniably a better platform in all aspects is ridiculous and sad.

Please, theres hardly any bashing in here. Most the bashing is between the GXP and GTP's. Just because someone says they dont care for a mustang and you run in and make a comment doesnt mean there bashing a car. The Mustang and LS communitys are alot bigger and have alot more support. no wonder there better. But go take a peak in there Racing forums and tell me what you think
 
I just wanted to express my personal forum experiences :p . Next time I'll keep my thoughts to myself unless I have something positive to give to the wonderfully radical gpf.
