02' Grand Prix GT power windows don't work.

I was away and my wife needed a 6 year old battery replaced. I sent her to a local place. A few days later Radio and mirror temp\compass were starting to flicker. Within a week they were out. Also noted no power windows. No moon roof.

I checked all the fuses. All good. It then took me to pwr window relay. I pulled relay and no power to either terminal. Not sure where power to in-dash fuse box comes from? Any direction appreciated.

I checked fusebox in glovebox and fusebox on passenger side wheel well in the engine compartment. All fuses were ok. I didn't check any diodes or circuit breakers. I opened up BCM which was above e-brake pedal. Removed it looked at all the solder connections. They looked fine too. Relays on bcm were clicking when power door locks were switched, which they are working ok.

Wait the relays were clicking? Trace power back if you can see where the dead wire goes. It's gotta lose power somewhere after the fuse box. There aren't any common problems that I know of, so I can't really help much without being there.

The relays on the BCM would only click when switching the door locks. The pwr window relay has no power. If I had a schematic, maybe I could trace or jump power to the relay in the glovebox. thanks for helping.

Sorry I can't find wiring diagrams on chilton. for some reason. Relays only have 4 tabs usually, two for the coil and two for the switch.

So I figured out what it was. I was not getting power to the relay so I tore into the harness. Found that the wire from the under hood fusebox to the inside fusebox had rubbed through down near the rack and pinion where it enters the firewall. I rerouted to the inside fusebox and spliced under the dash. Works great!

Sometimes it takes a bit of investigating, but in the end it's just tracing wires and checking for power, good job getting it fixed.
