'02 GPGT DS Window Motor

Hi,

Daughter just bought her first car and we found that the driver's side window won't go down. So I pulled off the door panel and popped off the electrical connector to see if voltage was getting to the motor. I had +12v and -12v when I operated the switch both ways (and zero of course when the switch was in neutral). So I ordered a new window motor.

So today I removed the old motor and was ready to put the new motor in. I thought I'd give the new motor a quick check and plugged it in. When I hit raise, the motor operated one way. So I hit lower and got nothing. I traded motors (old for new) and got the same results. No motor operation when trying to lower the window. I removed the motor and rechecked that there was voltage going to the plug and there was for both raise and lower, just like before.

Now what?

Thanks

You are correct. I am far too comfortable with my DVM and need to get out the test light more often. Switch contacts will pass enough voltage to fool the DVM, but won't pass any current.

Thanks for the reply.
