01 suburban no start

Hey guys wife's suburban randomly would crank but not start week ago and after about 10 mins started without issue...couple days after that died in traffic and would not start had to tow it home...got it home started right up after I jumped it...changed battery and alt drive it around came home sat in driveway idling for about 5 mins then it died and won't start...checked spark and I don't have any...check fuel pressure and its at 55psi...any thoughts? Crank sensor? No check engine light. Engine is 5.3

Crank sensor would be my guess. I had one do that to me in my 02 Tahoe. Mine had a pending code for ckp out of range.

From what you say..I'd fix the spark :th_jester:

Start by checking the usual suspects then potentially I'd search a couple of the truck forums for other hints before shotgunning our usual suspects on.

Ended up being the crank sensor!

That's what I figured, its a common failure point of those 5.3's.
