01 special edition wing

I found a 2001 Grand Prix special edition wing for a pretty good deal it needs to be painted to match but what needs to be done to make it bolt onto the trunk lid of a 97 gtp

I believe you would need to get a trunk lid from the junkyard or something that doesn't have the holes for a spoiler and then drill new holes for the SE wing. If use your existing trunk lid the holes will shown and you'll have to either fill them in or find something to cover them up. Im not to much of a expert on the 97-03 gen but ill let others correct me if I'm wrong.

Drill new holes and fill the others left behind by the old factory spoiler. Likely the paint under the old spoiler is ruined from being 15-16 years old.

Would a paint shop take care of all this or should I prep it myself?

Maybe go the SE route before I ruin my trunk lid thanks for the input
