coming home the other day I had a new (new body style I guess its 9 now?) evo speed up behind me (I was doing the speed limit). the highway was pretty desolate. He passed and looked at me funny like I was in a grammas car or something. (I am... LOL) so I sped up and passed a car in front of me(getting behind him).

I then see carbon/emissions come out of his dual exaust (ITS ON). So I nailed it. it kicked down hard and grabbed (2nd?) doing about 70. we went up to 95, and I moved over as I thought I was gaining ground, and he shut down. then we came up to a semi (I moved back over behind him) and again carbon/emissions and off we go again. up to about 100 or so. again. he couldnt out run me, but I didnt gain a ton of ground.

I moved over and got beside him, and wanted to do a side by side, but we were approaching both our exit (apparently) so we didnt. he looked at me with a puzzled look "why the hell cant I run away from this guy!?"...

we take the same exit and I pull of into a parking area expecting to chat or whatever. he pulls in to. cool. Then he goes right by me and revs, and then drives off... LOL. silly ricer boys!

it was deffinitaly an EVOLUTION. it came up behind me. cant help to notice the FMIC. Then it passed, and said EVOLUTION on the back bumper.

was 100% stock.

I was sure he was going to walk away from me. But he didnt. Now, not saying he can drive. or hell maybe he forgot to down shift. LOL

Although, what are evo's? 14's stock with a good driver? are cars are high 14's stock with a good driver ( and not AWD )... been a while since I have been in the car scene.

I had a 02 eclipse RS that I built two different turbo kits. First was stock 1G setup. It had the 450cc DSM injectors, with a 14b turbo, and SMIC mounted behind my "blinker vents"... running 15 psi. that car was pretty quick. Then I upgraded to a FMIC (3 core) then upgraded to T3/T4 turbo with a good manifold, and a AEM EMS. never did get to tune it though. got out of the military, and then lost my government contract I had lined up.

I got some pics somewhere.

First setup was 13.8 with Nitto NT555 "extreme performance" radials. Ill find pics. second setup never made it to the track, and never got a proper tune.


Basically I am just saying I have some car knowledge, and especially DSM knowledge thats all I did for 6 years of my life.

here is my 3G with the 1G setup, and after an accident that ruined my CF hood, and front bumper (was working on getting it painted and stuff, but wanted to get my FMIC done first)... MAN, looking at it now, there was some REDNECKness for sure to my first build, but it ran pretty descent with a EMANAGE. BUT, the emanage would not control timing on the 3g, and the DSM link wouldnt work either. 15lbs was the most I could run before timing got way out of wak.

Here was my second setup, and I got the bumper painted, and everything, and spend the money on the EMS. But, couldnt afford to tune it after loosing my contract.

I test drove a new evo about a month ago. Let me tell you that a stock gtp will NOT pull on an evo. Unless of course the evo was driving regularly.

Like I said. He may have not shifted down. maybe just stayed in 5th or 6th? I thought we were gonna talk, and i wanted to ask him some questions (Like I said I was sure he would walk away from me)... and I never said the EVO was rice. I said the driver was a RICER boy. That was a ricer move. to get off, and drive 5 ft from my car and then rev and race off...
 
I thought it would be around 12s.

But it was the RS motor right? So that explains it.

Nice cars if you actually do them right like that :)

I raced a stock evo 8 on the highway in my eclipse the night I ran my 13.8 (he beat me at the track).

I beat him by a car on the highway... (think he was stock)
