1quikgp's 05 Comp G...New Tips

Well after 9 years of driving a 2000 Daytona, I decided it was time for something new. After a 3.5 hour drive north, 2 hours in stopped traffic, and an accidental near trip over the border I made it to the car. Took me all of 5 minutes to decide it was mine! I bought a 2005 Comp G, Galaxy silver, 56k. It has all the option except dual climate control, which will be swapped in if possible. Needless to say, my 2000 is like a dinosaur compared to this thing. So the Daytona will be de-modded and up for sale soon. 2005 modding will start....now! :th_thumbsup-wink:

Re: Old member, new car...

Welcome.

And not to crush you or anything, but you can't swap climate controls, the BCM controls and wiring is different for each, so it can't be switched.

Re: Old member, new car...

Only one I have right now, I will get more this weekend. Thanks for the info on the climate control, I can live with what I've got.

Re: Old member, new car...

Progress will be made when it warms up out. I'll have to stop and look at it sometime. I'm still working on my comp g.

Re: Old member, new car...

The rims need some love, clear coat is chipping pretty bad. About the only thing I could find wrong with the car. Progress will be made soon, as Dan said, when it warms up a little. Dan, you still want these heads? Have to get the Daytona ready for sale, the 05 wants some new toys!!

Re: Old member, new car...

Yeah I still want them I'll text you today if I get a chance. I can stop today, tom, or friday.

Old member, new car... A few updates

Thought I would post a little update. Haven’t had much time to work on it, let alone drive it. Only put a thousand miles on it since Feb. Here are a few pics of progress…

Green inlays.

SPO Grilles…don’t mind the bugs!

Chrome vent rings and door trim. Just waiting for the DIC trim.

Now for some projects that are yet to be completed.

GXP fronts, stockers for the rear with R1 Concepts drilled rotors. Also have a set off SSC to get it a little closer to the ground.

Tinted my reverse bar, not finished yet. Still have to wet sand the clear and polish. Thought I would try something different to let the reverse lights through. We’ll see how that works out. I’ll get finished product picks when done.

SPO spoiler is at the painter, I should have that on by the end of the week. Rims and tires are in the hallway awaiting the brakes to be finished. I will post more as it comes together.

Re: Old member, new car... Few updates

It's not tinted real dark, so I'm not sure if you'll be able to see the arrowheads with the lights on. May try to get a pick of that tonight.

Re: Old member, new car... Few updates

Install an HID set in the reverse bar.
You could even just get LED bulbs.

Re: Old member, new car... Few updates

Looks good, no need to upgrade the lights. dsmuts, you need to finish the chrome ring upgrade. Even the trooper that pulled me over tonight said they looked awesome...lol. And I can make you a light bar, but the arrowheads will be upside down so it's not as cool as mine :th_biggrin2:

Re: Old member, new car... Few updates

reverse bar looks good...real original.....debadge the GP though man.....what overlay is on the "Competition Group" badge?

Re: Old member, new car... Few updates

I am going to remove the "GRAND PRIX", but I like the GTP badge and the Comp G door badges. The overlay is just a green box with "COMPETITION GROUP" cut out. The little red boxes on my door badges are green too.
