The Big Bad Brake Thread

While I am on the path of stupidity, I went on RockAuto to price out some 05+ GXP calipers and was overwhelmed at the results when I did the search since there were a ton of results for Calipers. If anyone can PM me and provide me some guidance (part #'s of everything I would need perhaps), I would greatly appreciate it.

Ok so breakdown for the 05-07 GXP calipers is as follows.
Z7U - GXP rpo
FE4 - Special Suspension Pkg
JL9 - Frt/Rr Disc Pkg

Frt LH - 89060373 (If Discontinued use - 18048674)
Frt RH - 89060374 (If Discontinued use - 18048675)

Rr LH - 89060396
Rr RH - 89060370

Hope this helps. Good luck

So i decided i should ask this question here rather than making a new thread..
figured i'd get an answer faster...

So i just installed SS lines, 1 new caliper, and 2 new hardlines brakelines on the car...

i know i need pads and rotors pretty damn bad.

now...

nothing leaks, there is no air in the system at all, but when i drive the car the pedal still goes straight to the floor with only a small amount of resistance..

could that be because i need new rotors and pads??

or could there be something else wrong somewhere?
and before any of you ask, my master cylinder still works fine (when the car is off and i pump the pedal, the pedal gets ROCK hard..)

HALP.

keep bleeding often times once is not enough

man, i bled the **** out of everything...

but..

now that i'm thinking...
i put new hardlines to both rears, then bled both rears, and refilled the master...

do you think theres still air in the system??

When it comes to bleeding best is to bleed them all, going from furthest away to closest to the master cylinder. So Rear Pass, Rear Driver, Front Pass, Front Driver. Refill as needed. If still soft, repeat until hard as a ....

I honestly don't understand how there's still air in the system...
Ill bleed all the wheels again when I get new brakes... Smh, @ least once this is done and over with I won't have to hopefully ever do it again lol

take a look on the abs pump thats bolted to the master cylinder. mine has 2 bleeders on it. and i got air out of it after i did my f body swap. how, i dont know, but that firmed up the pedal the rest of the way.

they face the bumper, so looking right at it you should see them.

heres a pic i found. bottom right of the pic. would be the top right if looking at it in the car.

yes, just like a caliper. these will spit right on the intake, so a 4 inch piece of vac line and a bottle are nice to keep things clean.
