• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Driver Information Center not working 2000 gtp

The battery was unhooked for about a week while at the body shop. Picked it up last thursday and the buttons all light up but the main screen does nothing. He called a local dealer and he said it has to be turned on by a tech 2, which I think sounds rediculous. I checked every single fuse, I did find the hvac mini fuse inside the car was missing, but the dic/hvac was in tact and still good. Everything else in the car works perfectly as it should. I even pulled the dic out and took it appart to checka bulb and it's good. Checked all 12v on the harness going to it and there's power where there should be. Kind of lost at this point. I was thinking about going to get another dic from the junkyard but the car only has 8000 on it now. BTW the body shop did a great job repairing the car, just waiting on one more nos part.

I had to replace mine with one from a junk yard car. When it started to go only one side would light up until I tapped on it. Once that stopped working I had no choice. The procedure to replace the bulb just wasn't worth the trouble considering how inexpensive a replacement dic is.

One more note, once mine finally went it still came on but you really had to strain to see it. Bulbs looked good on mine as well.

Is there any way to check them to see if theyre good? I'm assuming the grounds have to be grounded. After that you should be able to put 12v to each pin right?

It's not the bulbs. Pretty sure it's burned up from the door getting f'ed up. I remember when I moved the car off the street the dome light wasn't on and the door was obviously open. I'm thinking it got fried.

i got a new one from my local jy for my old 2000 for 15 bucks
actually i have it sitting in my closet right now

It would be easier for you to post a pic of the one you have. Cell phone pics are too sophisticated for this website.

I'm sure it's the same one, car is the same year, as long as it's from a gtp it should work.

well see back then i just grabbed it for the bulbs and it was a little different from my gtps, but ill post a pic for you tonight and if you want it you can have it if you send me a return label and ****.

I read somewhere that A 97' DIC won't work in a 00' GTP. 97's were the only year to have tire pressure monitoring.

Still looking for one. Got a few more places to check locally. Found one today that was unverified from a 99gtp, plugged it in and it didn't work.:(

THinking about figuring out a way to bench test mine. I've had a place in town that specializes in automotive electronics look at it and they agree with me that the screen is burned out but I'd like to verify it for sure.

For future reference, if your DIC goes blank, shine a bright flashlight on it while your car is on. If it is just the bulbs, you will still see information changing after you shined your flashlight into it. If you see no changes, then the DIC is more than likely toast.
