• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What did you do to your Car today?

got my rear windows tinted. The back ones on the top and sides got some weird white residue going on, and the side ones have VERY small bubbles that you can only see when you change your angle of sight.

Hang tight like you said. the back window has a defroster on it so if you use that defroster it can hurt the tint cause it gets warm. i've seen a lot of people have this problem with the back tint.

With the tint, wait for warmer weather if its really cold where you are. I got mine done on a cold day and had bubbles for a few weeks until the sun really warmed the windows up, the bubbles went away then. So be patient, the bubbles just need to get warmed up.

I had my 04 done in Feb.2008,never changed, never was perfect like smooth glass. They told me it would happen with the defroster traces and window edge black tint dimples. Its somewhat noticeable, but that is a definite installer snafu.

Noticed my voltage was down around 12.8-13.4, So i cleaned all the grounds and added the extra alternator wire. Got it up to 14.5- 15 now.

Will you warm my bubbles up?

I've never had issues with my back tint. Side windows are a little different through. Scratches down them from obvious reasons, and one of the 1/4 windows on the back has bubbles it in like ungodly... along with what looks like "hair" between the glass and tint. Even though it is in fact not hair... I don't care. It is a grand prix.

I went on rockauto and put the parts i want in the cart, is their shipping right????
cause if it is - its cheaper to get parts local.

Wanted to call Scotty and tell him how my car self healed. Yesterday though it proved that it couldn't be trusted (as he mentioned these issues can be pesky, like JTeske).

This morning, I er..well here's a picture

See that cell bracket (that I was considering using with a new mount? There's a corresponding gouge in my head from my lack of paying attention to that bracket.

Yea I learned that one time too, I got $50 in parts and $26 of shipping. They can be outta hand with shipping costs. So since then i been getting stuff off ebay or local parts stores.

The problem with RockAuto is when you buy multiple items and they are coming from multiple warehouses.

There are still ways to save using them though.
