hpt Scanner question

hey guys whats up ? I have been trying to get my GTP to pass emissions in MASS. but it keeps throwing a P0401 EGR insuf flow , which in most cases leads to the MAP or the EGR tubes, I have addressed both and still throw this code , so I used the hpt scanner and unchecked this code in the settings to make sure the light doesnt come on again which it has not come back on , but now the problem is I can not get my PCM to complete a drive cycle , could this be because I deleted /unchecked this code? the only test that complete are the o2 heater and o2 sensor, the EGR,EVAP and CAT wont complete . I just dont understand , any help would be great , Thanks!

Re: hpt Scanner question????????????????????????????

Not 100% positive, but I believe you have to set the code to not report. I think un-checking it just sets it to not cause the MIL to illuminate.

Yup. And as for drive cycle. it takes a lot for all tests to run. Search for the drive cycle info I've posted.

Thanks for the info guys , can i set that code not to report right from the hpt scanner ? I will also check out drive cycle test info as suggested (thanks Bill)

Yeah.. you know that check box.. 2mm to the right is the dropdown. 1 mil on X, 2, mil on x, 3 No Report.

You want #3

FWIW depending on your year, you could tell all the codes for the other stuff to er uh..not report and it'll clear the monitoring to be all set

I learned that one when I was sick of trying to complete the drive cycle on mine. Had to pass that day.

Once you buy hp tuners all you do is go to engine diag---dtc------look in the column to the right scroll down to find the code that you want to disable it will be set to either 1 or two...all you do is switch it to third option which is no report.

tell all the codes for the other stuff to er uh..not report and it'll clear the monitoring to be all set - complete the drive cycle...

So, if you set all the codes to no report it will clear the diagnostic and report drive cycle test's complete? That's what I'm asking?
