I am interested in supercharging my 05 Grand Prix, 3800 Series 3 (L26).
I have found a couple supercharger conversion kits for the series 2 engine but not for the series 3. Is is possible to super charge it?
Any information, tips, links, or any hints any one might have would be greatly appreciated.
 


You could contact ZZP about seeing if their SS M90 kit will work for a Gen V supercharger (found on Series III engines). You can't use a Gen III supercharger (Series II engines) because your drive-by-wire throttle body won't fit on a Gen III. There's always top swapping with a L32, or swapping in a whole L32.

Top swaps can get expensive, as I'm finding out. There's all sorts of little things that are easy to do while you have the parts in front of you and you won't be able to resist. :)
 
You need a drive by wire throttle body since your car is currently using drive by wire. That throttle body is the previous cable style. Incompatible.
 
alright so what throttle body would i need, do you know the model and where i could find it?
and besides getting the drive by wire throttle body will the rest of the kit work out?
 
there is 2 ways to do this so far because this is going to be my project for before it gets nice again ... ok first way is to top swap it from another 04+ grand prix with the supercharger... second way would be to just drop the 04+ gtp motor in... im droping in a whole motor because i will have less down time that way and will be quicker in my mind... they do not make a kit for the 04+ cars yet and no parts will really work from the lower year cars because of our throttle bodys

You would need a L32 throttle body, if it is compatible with your current setup (connections and such). But, finding an adapter for that to fit it to a Gen III supercharger will be nearly impossible. You'd have to use the more expensive Gen V supercharger off a Series III engine (L32) to go with it.
