OK Tex maybe you can answer a question I've had for awhile since you seem to be the freshest source. But what is the purpose or charm with the roof rails. I don't remember ever seeing one in person. Do they or were they designed for an actual aerodynamic reason? I know to each his own and whatever floats the boat but you gotta wonder if GM was thinking we'ld be hauling 4x8's materials or just slicing the airstream quicker.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw these. It sucks cause the hood and spoiler on this car had been taken, but oh well scored some good sh1t today.

Um.. well from what I have seen, roof rails are Rare and they look awesome. I need certain parts, so I'm going to wait on installing them, just in case a cool deal comes along.

Its just for looks. Its not a factory option on any Grand Prix's except special editions, Daytona's, 40th Anniversary's, SLP upgrades, etc... So we like the different look. It does nothing for aerodynamics on our cars, they don't go fast enough to every be useful.

Roof Rails. They just set off a certain extra something. You don't notice its missing until you compare and yea.... should have been factory on all.

Did some more cleaning on my pre gens today while at WORK :th_king-evil:

All three rims that I have, had some sort of curb rash, well....NOT any more. I got rid of that nasty sh1t. Behold:::

Thanks and see, that is why I like GPF, everyone is a comedian, White? yes I am, but no, I am going with Gunmetal Grey and maybe figure how to paint the pontiac letters in the spoke GOLD. The Gold lettering looks good in my thoughts, but not sure as to how it would really look.
 
Guessing you sanding the rash down? And gunmetal would look good gto and it you could paint the "Pontiac" the same color as the car I think that would look sweet maybe just use a touch up pen.

I used a flapper wheel to lightly remove material til the rash was gone then followed up with some sand paper. All the rims look way better now. Yeah the touch up pen is what came to mind. I want these rims on my car so bad, but still gotta get the fourth one, then tires maybe. If I don't get some stock 225-60's I will have to run my 225-55's.

yeah I looked at fleabay the other day and they had one for $75 free shipping, but I'm being patient and hopping some better deal comes along. If it is a last resort then I will go there.
 
Tax time lol! I would watch it just in case. The last thing you want to do is miss out on one hoping that a cheaper one pops up. I've done it so many times in the past and ended up paying then I originally should of because I didn't want to spend the money on that item at this time. Now a days if I have the extra cash and find a deal and its something that I can rarely come upon I jump on it :)

Good job on that rash. It almost looks like you built it up.
A Testors enamel paint pen might work good for the lettering. I would think It would be easier than an auto touch-up pen.
Good luck on that Pre-Gen easter egg.

Thanks, I actually removed the material til the rash was gone. I totally forgot about Model paint, thanks for reminding me.

Wow those came out looking great. I bet they are going to look awesome gunmetal gray with the gold letters. When they are done i bet they will look sweet. :th_thumbsup-wink:

Ah yeah sometimes in thought things seem great but once it's done, not so much. Still though, if you go just gunmetal gray, no gold I bet they are going to look clean.
