The Official what you need and how-to for CTS-V brakes

I might be able to do that... the material isn't cheap though.. I was looking at some aluminum sheets and they are like 50 bucks for a 12"x 12" sheet
 


got mine from the brown truck today, holy crap these are big compared to my crappy stock ones... cant wait to get them on!

What part numbers did you guys search for on Amazon for the rear calipers and how much did you guys pay? Were the guiding pins included?
 


I was reading on some CTS forums that the pads are the same in the front and back if I'm not mistaken. If they really are the same then one might think they should use the same pin kit.

Also, how's the mounting bracket coming? And what are the part numbers for the rear calipers?

so where is everyone who has done this conversion sourcing their rotors? im shopping around and dont wanna miss a deal or get some sh!tty rotors known to break or somethin

The Centric Premiums are middle of the road StopTech rotors.

I would not run Drilled rotors on this setup to be honest.

Drilled rotors are the devil and I've never had them on any of my cars...ever. Slotted I think is fine and I will be running slotted on my Saab next setup.
 
yeah im staying away from drilled, just trying to see if theres more (affordable) options out there, 370z rotors wont work?
 
LOL Ya ignore my comment about the R1 Fbody rotors. I was thinking this was the other brake thread, that was a my bad.

Nope.

Do remember some times going cheap on somethings is not always a good idea. $70/rotor is a pretty good deal IMO, especially for the size.
 
I got mine off Brakeperformance. com... they are drilled however but I've had no problems with them... I will say this as I'm sure Drunkie will.. don't get Hawk ceramics with these... they take forever to heat up if your not auto-xing... I will be getting semi metallics next lol
 
whats everybody beef with drilled. ive had them on three of my last cars with no issues or cracking and damn sure no warping as compared to slotted. I think the diffrence is were they cast with holes vs. being drilled. and the overall quality of rotor/material/build quality.
