Just a Topaz Gold Metallic GTP

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

I remember you saying that earlier about painting later this year. Are you going to paint the black pieces the same as the sc?

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

Yeah I remember wanting to do all that sh1t too, til the wallet got tight and the wife aka "Financial Advisor" said family before car, which is right. I'm going to see about messing with Photoshop on the engine bay as to what will be painted. I don't want to get stupid with the Gold, nor go apesh1t with the black.

Anyway nice looking ride man! Keep it up.

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

Yeah we had too much fun that day on patrol. The days of DOOR KICKING and house searches were awesome. We broke sh1t and gave no fvcks. I'm miss being in a Combat Arms unit. I will also miss being in the ARMY, but after this medical retirement is complete it will be time to do less body breaking things and work on the GP more. A special day is coming up soon, I will let yall know.

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

It's not a big deal to most people, but it is to me LOL. You being a Military person will understand it more. Don't worry I will let yall know.

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

I washed the car last night and this morning used Meguiars Ultimate Compound on most of the front bumper, LH fender, RH fender and spoiler. The difference was night and day. I realized how long I have been putting this off and needed to use that stuff. I also realized how FUQED UP my front bumper paint is with all the FUQIN road chips.

Look close and you can see the difference

I had good luck with the stuff, being the hobbiest polisher I am. What I learned was keep rubbing until it gets clear oily looking. I also found out a micro-fiber wont even touch it for removal. Terry cloth or a sacrificed 100% cotton cut up bath towel and it comes off easy. You going to use the polish after that, then some wax?...Looking like a big time improvement.

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

Don't have time for wax and polish today. I was mainly trying it to see if there was a change. I used a drill with a small buff pad to get that finish. Since I see it works, the whole car will be done eventually.

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

Yeah it does take awhile. Just make sure you have the cotton terrys when you hit it.

Re: Just a Topaz Gold Metalic GTP

If you are going to do the whole shebang, you should probably clay bar after washing before the UC, so you dont grind any contaminants into the paint.

If the wife allows me, I will get some clay bars. Can't wait to finish it. Now that I see how much better it is, I gotta get crackin.

Good job. Ultimate compound is a keeper along w/ Meg 105/205 and a Porter Cable. I need to do mine once its back on the road. For now just a occasional spray with the hose. lol

Thanks, wish I had the correct Polisher/ Porter Cable. I used a $20 Black and Decker corded drill, spins about 1400, not too fast, maybe little slow, but got the job done without fvcking it up.

Most anything is better then by hand lol. Keep up the good work, I normal hate gold cars but your doing something to make me love them more and more.
