This kid at a rival school has been talking alot of **** about pontiacs, and especially my car. He drives a 2001 Olds Aurora with the 4.0 northstar.
My question is this; If i race him will i be able to win? it seems to me like he only has 10 more horses but 300~lbs heavier and 20 less torques.
Can i shut him up and should i throw down some cash?
Note that i am a stock '97 GTP Coupe on stock tire sizing.

You can take the Aurora.

Just dont punch it right away, youll get wheel spin and could cause a loss.

Ease into for a sec, then punch it.

Should i shift through 1,2,3 and then D or just leave it in drive and ease into it?
Also, by no means do i think my car is a racecar. Parentals didnt want me going the modding route, so i went for aesthetics route

make a intake for sound purpose only and some see better mpgs out of it. i went the same way so did dan dont worry. if your goin from a dig id say just drive from a roll downshift to 2nd

Holy **** i should murder him then lol. I know that he doesn't know how to drive and will just floor it as soon as the arms are dropped.

You should win, all his power is top end and slow off the line. I would just leave it in D unless you'll be down shifting from 4th gear.

my brother has a Aurora, and its pretty snappy, i never drove it, but have been a passenger, it chirps 2 nd gear pretty nice, and its all stock. one of these days maybe we will line em up and run em.

my bud had a 97, seemed to go pretty good but the compg Prix was quicker,
then again he had the speed crippler non-autobahn
after like 105 it would pull back
if you can stick the tires, you'll nail him with the blower
